CYA Basic Cruising Instructors

This course demands a high level of personal sailing skill, theoretical knowledge and an aptitude for teaching.

Pre-requisites:

- CYA Intermediate Cruising Standard
- CYA Coastal Navigation Standard
- Current First Aid with CPR
- PCOC Boat License
- VHF ROC (Maritime) with DSC

You must have the pre-requisites before applying. There will be a single handed practical sailing test administered on the first day as well as a written exam. Candidates not passing either of these will not be able to move forward to the full instructor course

RYA Cruising Instructor
Pre-requiste: RYA Yachtmaster Offshore (commercially endorsed)

Do you have 2000nm, 3 passages of 60nm, VHF and First Aid but no RYA Yachtmaster? Are you looking to work professionally around the world as a Cruising Instructor? We have a 7 week program beginning April 2012 which will take your existing experience, building your skills while incorporating offshore skippered passages. Sea Survival and personal safety training are included as well as modules on electronics and radar all leading to your RYA Yachtmaster Offshore exam and the RYA Cruising Instructor training.
