Instructor Training
CYA Basic Cruising Instructor Course – $850

Sail training is one of the most rewarding and demanding teaching environments. If you have a passion for sailing and desire to teach we would love to hear from you.
This course demands a high level of personal sailing skill, theoretical knowledge and an aptitude for teaching. Certficated pre-requisites are;
- 18 or older
- CYA Basic Cruising Standard
- CYA Coastal Navigation Standard
- 2 or more years sailing experience
- Current First Aid nationally recognized certificate in CPR level A or higher
- Boat License
- VHF ROC (Maritime) with DSC endorsement
If you have some but not all of the pre-requisites please contact us we are happy to assist you in meeting the requirements. A passion, skill and knowledge of the sport is key
Current Blue Instructors wishing to cross over to keelboat and yacht sailing are encouraged to contact us.
This course consists of a singlehanded sailing test and teaching workshops both in the classroom and afloat.
