Keel boat sailing requires effective team work, leadership, co-operation and sailing skill as well as broader marine management knowledge.
This summer VIMA aims to give youth a firm and safe grounding in the skills required to Skipper and Crew on larger sailing vessels, not forgetting the fun and adventure of independent coastal sailing.
Boat handling, navigation, seamanship, teamwork and a commitment to professional instruction, form the framework in which we:
* Develop a passion, skill and respect for sailing on the ocean
* Progress sailing skills and marine knowledge from the dinghy level
* Provide opportunities to lead on the water
* Facilitate team work in an active outdoor environment
* Instill confidence and fun on the water
VIMA offers Summer Sailing Camps daily from our home port, Westbay Marina (Victoria Inner Harbour) during school vacations. The CYA programs are completed on the Cal 20ft and Cal 28ft
