Instructor: Certified Maritime Radio Instructor
Certification: Restricted Operator Certificate(Maritime)- DSC Endorsement
Introduces the basics of VHF radio operation, and radio etiquette. Material covered will include the systems of GMDSS and DSC as well as local operation and communication via radio. There will be a short assessment paper and oral exam at the end of the day.
Bring you own lunch, Tea and coffee are provided.

First Aid Courses
This course is designed for both the recreational and professional mariner. As well as covering the standard First Aid material your additional marine specific training will include practical scenarios onboard our sailing vessels.
This course meets Transport Canada Training Program Standards in Marine First Aid (TP 13008E).

Duration: 2 Days, 9am – 5pm
Instructor: Certified Red Cross First Aid Instructor
Completion: 100% attendance and 75% min passing grade at written exam
Certification: 3-year certification in Marine Basic First Aid & CPR Level C, equivalent to Standard First Aid & CPR Level C, and AED

Course content
- Assessment of needs of ill and injured
persons and threats to own safety
- Appreciation of body structure and functions
- Positioning of person
- The unconscious person
- Resuscitation techniques
- Control of bleeding
- Management of shock
- Burns and scalds and injuries caused by electricity
- Rescue and transport of people
- Other topics including improvised bandages, rescue in enclosed spaces, infectious diseases and personal health and hygiene
