Your VHF certificate can be obtained through homestudy, the official manual can be ordered here
We recommend you study at your own pace. When you are ready to take the exam, either join us on one of our assessment dates or we will arrange an independant examination either as part of your sailing course or as a stand alone examination should you need it.
Examination will consist of an over view of the material with an instructor, practical application and a written exam.
First aid is an essential component of your skippering skills. 
While we have fantastic marine emergency services here around the island, sailing in its essense is remote. Should there be an incident at sea, will you be prepared to maintain a casualty until the emergency services arrive?
A minimum of Standard First Aid with CPR level A is recommended but there are options to take a Marine First Aid Course please check out these organisations for courses in your area:
