Students at this level demonstrate all the skills needed to skipper a boat for overnight cruises.
Building on the seamanship, navigation and boat handling skills of competent crew and dayskipper this is where confidence and skill in stronger and more varied conditions is reinforced and developed.
This is a ‘liveaboard’ program.
While you cruise through the Gulf Islands you will be managing the yacht as well as exploring our beautiful coast line. Overnight stops consist of anchoring in some of our favorite bays, as well as visiting various island marinas. Specific routes are determined at the time of the course and depend on weather and current conditions.
To complete the coastal skipper certification Skippers must have a first aid certificate including CPR and a VHF radio license.
