RYA Dayskipper

Students at this level will come with some basic knowledge of boat handling and navigation, with an aim to be competent to handle the yacht as skipper for short passages in tidal waters.
While you cruise through the Gulf Islands you will be managing the yacht as well as exploring our beautiful coast line. Overnight stops consist of anchoring in some of our favorite bays, as well as visiting various island marinas. Specific routes are determined at the time of the course and depend on weather and current conditions.
This certificate, combined with the RYA Dayskipper Theory course qualifies you to apply for an International Certificate of Competence. A Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) accredited boat license, required for chartering in most European countries.
Skippers at this level should also seek to obtain a first aid certificate including CPR and a VHF radio license.
